Terms of Business
These Terms of Business govern your use of the Oak Legal website (oaklegal.ie) and provide general information about how we engage with clients. They do not replace the formal Terms of Engagement issued to you in writing when you instruct Oak Legal on a specific matter.
No solicitor-client relationship from website use
Browsing this website or submitting an enquiry through our contact form does not, by itself, create a solicitor-client relationship. A solicitor-client relationship is only formed once Oak Legal has confirmed acceptance of your instructions in writing, typically by way of a formal letter of engagement.
General information only
Content on this website is provided for general informational purposes about Oak Legal and its services. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Legal advice can only be given once we understand the full facts of your specific circumstances.
Fees
Where fixed fees or fee estimates are referenced on this website, they are indicative only and subject to confirmation once we have assessed your specific matter. Formal fee arrangements, including any applicable outlays, VAT, and payment terms, will be set out in your letter of engagement, in accordance with the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.
Confidentiality
Enquiries submitted through this website are treated as confidential. However, please avoid sending highly sensitive information via the contact form until a formal solicitor-client relationship has been established; use of the internet for such matters is not entirely secure.
Regulatory information
Oak Legal is regulated by the Law Society of Ireland. Jason Burke practises as a solicitor in accordance with the Solicitors Acts 1954–2015 and the Solicitors Accounts Regulations.
Limitation of liability
While we take care to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date, Oak Legal accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on general website content in place of formal legal advice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
